ABOUT THE HANGAR

The Story

Created From Necesity.

In 2020 a group of friends wanted to have a place to play to stay out of sight of the public eye. A warehouse in Miramar at an undisclosed location was used and became known as “the Hangar” due to its expansive floor area and close proximity to the military air base around the corner.

It’s initial operation was very exclusive, almost like a secret club that started to gain popularity among the San Diego soccer crowd. Close to a year after it’s initial inception, the expansion project began to turn a pickup soccer club into a way to develop youth footballers the right way in San Diego.

In 2022 the Estadio, in El Cajon, became the first major futsal facility in San Diego bringing this beautiful game, culture and development tool, to a soccer community that was waiting and ready for it.

Player Development

Futsal is, without a doubt, the single best developmental tool for youth soccer players. The ball control, decision making, and coordination that is required to play futsal well, sets players up for success on a grass pitch.

Game Development

All over the world, facilities like the Hangar are not such a novelty occurrence. In order for the game to develop, Futsal has to feel like it has a home. The Hangar is dedicated to providing this home and many more.

Community Development

The Hangar is determined to create a community for footballers, futsalers, and fans of the game in one place. A place to sit back with friends, watch a league game on television, or play your own game with teammates.
